I have four sets of wild Peacocks, Peahens and babies. This is one set. I bought the fine, the adults usually eat the whole Sunflower hearts and have for the last 10 years. I thought I would try the fine for the babies, I still have the whole seed hearts from another order and the babies eat them just as well. This is the seed to use- sunflower seeds. The seed is finely chopped so the birds just eat! No shells, no waste. I even have Robins eating sunflower seeds, I’m trying to get a video of that.

Most people don’t believe me, but after years of trying different bird seeds from different companies, I realized that almost all the birds in my area in Pennsylvania love sunflower seed! But consider that most is in the shell, only good for larger birds, and squirrels. This ground sunflower seed is ALL I use…… Fine ground for tube feeding, medium ground for tray feeding. The birds are here every 15 minutes to feed. This will really increase as spring nesting season approaches. I am so thankful for Elk Mound seed.

I only use Elk Mound finely chopped and medium chopped sunflower seed. This is so much more economical than buying in a store, and excellent quality. I use the finely chopped in my tube feeders, and the medium chopped in the tray feeder. Any that falls to the ground disappears for ground feeding birds. Even have a squirrel who comes by every evening at sunset!
I only use Elk Mound sunflower seed. I use the fine ground sunflower seed for the tube feeders. In fall and winter I use the medium ground sunflower seed in the tray feeder. It’s heavy enough that it doesn’t blow away on windy days, and it holds up well in rain or snow. This seed is great. All my birds friends are very happy 😊
After years of trying different seeds, I only use Elk Mound sunflower seeds. I use the fine and medium ground in my bird feeder and tube feeders. The video shows what I watch everyday.
