"Branch" or "Creeping" root alfalfa varieties have root systems that display larger crowns and smaller tap roots when compared to traditional brands. Branch rooted alfalfa generally handles wheel and foot traffic better than tap rooting brands. EMS Creeping Root alfalfa will have tremendous winterhardiness and will tolerate heaving and ice sheeting better than most other varieties.
