Tried elk mound this year instead of the popular brand. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Despite weeks with no rain after germination the plots are full and healthy!

Planted mid August. Little rain, but still growing well in upstate NY.

The bag covers exactly what it claims to cover. There is plenty of seed in a 9lb bag to cover at least an acre. I went a little thinner because I mixed it with another 9lb bag of different forage. The seed germinated very quickly and responded well to the milorganite fertilizer that I applied after the first month. I posted 3 pictures, the first is the day I planted, then 2 weeks later and 4 weeks later. Now that it's been 6 weeks, it is twice as thick and green as it was 2 weeks ago. The deer are absolutely gorging themselves and can't get enough of it!

Hard to give much of a review because a day after I broadcast the seed we got 5" of rain. The field had a slope and most of the seed washed down hill. I have a dense stand of brassicas along the down hill edge of the field. The plants that grew look good.

In Southern Wisconsin, we got the seed planted in mid August. Got some rain shortly after, good germination. then we didn't have rain for at lease three or four weeks. Seems like mostly the turnips and radishes survived. Deer are feeding on the plot continually so that the plants never get big. It sure keeps the deer close by.

The food plot looks great and the deer and turkeys can't get enough. My Grandson shot a nice buck off of the plot during the youth hunt. Very pleased.

Tried the Frosty Forage this late summer, came up great even though after planting it didn’t rain for two weeks. Once it rained up it came and the deer are grateful. The plot has 6 to 10 deer feeding in it everyday and it withstands the heavy feeding. I am sold on this product and will be ordering more for next year!
