Sky Blue Aster - (Symphyotrichum oolentangiense)

Sky Blue Aster is a hardy, long-lived perennial native to the central and eastern United States, thriving in open woodlands, prairies, and along roadsides. It grows 2 to 3 feet tall and produces abundant clusters of light blue to lavender-blue flowers with yellow centers from late summer into fall. The plant’s stiff stems and deep green foliage create a striking contrast to its blooms, making it an excellent late-season accent for native gardens, prairie restorations, and pollinator plantings. Sky Blue Aster is highly attractive to butterflies, native bees, and other beneficial insects. It performs best in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating dry to moderate moisture levels and even poor or sandy conditions once established.
