Pale Purple Coneflower - (Echinacea Pallida)
Pale Purple Coneflower is a native perennial found throughout the eastern and midwestern United States, extending south to Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia. It grows naturally in limestone glades, oak savannas, prairies, and along roadsides. This drought- and heat-tolerant species thrives in full sun to partial shade and performs well even in poor soils. Plants grow 2–4 feet tall and produce elegant, pale purple petals that droop from a prominent cone, blooming through the summer months. Pale Purple Coneflower is low maintenance and freely self-seeds if spent blooms aren’t removed. The deep taproot should be well-covered to ensure winter survival. Commonly used in tallgrass prairie mixes, cut flower gardens, and traditional herbal applications.
