Canada Milkvetch Seed (Astragalus canadensis)
Canadian Milkvetch is a native legume found throughout most of the United States and Canada. Known for its greenish-white flowers that bloom in mid to late summer, it’s valuable for pollinator, bird, and wildlife plantings. As a nitrogen-fixing perennial, it helps improve soil health and is also effective for erosion control. Once established, plants are large and robust with a typical lifespan of 3–4 years under good maintenance. It can be mowed and is palatable to wildlife. Best planted in early May or frost-seeded in late October at a depth of ½–¾ inch.
